There were two main families of Carothers moving West to Oregon, through Missouri and originally from Pennsylvania. Mathew Loudon Carothers, b. 1816, had a large family that moved with him to Linn County, Oregon about 1865. Additionally, his 2nd cousin, Andrew Jackson Carothers, b. 1834, and his smaller family, moved to Oregon in 1883. Both families predomonantly stayed on the West Coast.
Again, genealogy is only shown on this web site through people born in early 1900, in order to help protect from identity theft from those still living. Should you want to trace a particular family to current times, please email CustomerService@carothers-carruthers.com. Thank you for your understanding.
